Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company, is currently seeking an Affordability Engineering Specialist or Senior Specialist to join our Canoga Park, CA team (hybrid work available). This Affordability Engineer will work with engineers and program managers to provide affordability engineering expertise for diverse Aerojet Rocketdyne (AR) programs and is expected to be able to work independently in a lead role or work as an integral team member in a supporting role.  Typical duties may include:

• Lead should-cost estimates for proposals.
• Lead estimates of propulsion system costs and associated component costs.
• Lead Design-to-Cost efforts on programs.
• Build a strong working relationship with the other Aerojet Rocketdyne employees to ensure that the group's capabilities are fully utilized and that the group's results are meeting customer needs.
• Discipline Support and/or Training and Education such as creating and improving training materials and possibly delivering training sessions, identifying and leading discipline initiatives and coordination meetings.

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other appropriate technical discipline, plus at least nine (9) years of relevant experience, including Design to Cost and/or Affordability Engineering experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Additional requirements and preferred qualifications:

• PRICE TruePlanning experience / familiarity highly desirable
• Experience with COTS parametric and other hardware modeling tools is highly desired
• Advanced Excel skills
• Familiarization with spacecraft and/or launch vehicle systems is preferred
• Ability to lead or assist with estimates of propulsion system costs and associated component costs
• Experience with program / project management desirable
• Familiarity with Bill of Materials development
• Experience independently conducting data analysis to support program / proposal estimating

Will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level.
