Designs plant additions and modifications, including initial research, evaluating options, creates design, estimates costs, writes technical specifications, prepares work orders and orders materials, coordinates installation and performs final inspection.
Assists operations and maintenance departments with troubleshooting system and equipment problems including, but not limited to, vibration and controls analysis.
Develops recommendations and prepares special reports as required, including cost analysis, inspection reports, outage work reports, project investigation, and recommendation reports.
Coordinates and performs various plant performance testing such as heat rate analysis, boiler efficiency, condenser performance, air heater leakage and pulverizer finesse tests.
Assists in preparing operations, maintenance and engineering department budgets.
Assists with equipment inspections during outages as needed.
Supervises outside contractors and gives technical direction to operations and maintenance employees as needed.
Assists with NERC, Safety and Environmental compliance activities as needed.
Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
License & Certification
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
· At least 4 years’ experience in industry preferred
· Professional Engineering License preferred
