LMI, a not-for-profit, government management consulting organization headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, is seeking an IT cost analyst to support a government client in decision analysis around IT investments. Position requires work performance at government offices in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Participate on a project team performing IT cost estimation and validation for government clients. Responsible for conducting cost estimating and analysis of IT acquisition programs and initiatives to help clients understand the costs and resource impacts of their decisions. Initial duties may include:
Collect and analyze acquisition and operating and support cost data
Estimate the costs of IT acquisition and operating and support programs and initiatives
Develop and use cost models and estimating relationships
Assist in the conduct of cost-benefit and business case analyses
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND DESIRED
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, or similar discipline is required.
Two (2) years of cost estimating and analysis experience, preferably of IT programs or initiatives.
Must be familiar with IT cost estimating and analysis principles and models, basic modeling and simulation principles, and basic operations research methods, particularly statistical data analysis. Ability to collect and normalize cost, technical, and programmatic data from Government and Industry entities; ability to analyze data and develop cost estimating methods and tools.
Experience with COTS cost tools such as SEER-SEM or similar software is a plus.
Must be able to collaborate with others in project team-oriented environment, communicate complex analyses verbally and in writing, and develop innovative approaches to solving technical challenges.
Must be available for periodic travel.
