Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to be responsible for the safe and cost effective execution of mechanical maintenance and integrity work for the plant. This position will provide leadership and management to ensure the execution of BASF work processes and PM/PdM systems.
Mechanical Maintenance Manager (1701028)
You will ensure efficient and effective utilization of maintenance manpower, resources, tools, and equipment. You will supervise the mechanical maintenance staff to work closely with operations to support production needs as it relates to equipment maintenance. You will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic plan for people development and equipment reliability. This position reports to the Plant Maintenance and Reliability Manager.
Formula for Success: You Will
Manage the safe and cost effective execution of maintenance work for the plant
Develop the annual maintenance budget and spending plan
Manage the plant mechanical maintenance spending and the utilize cost analysis to manage and improve cost
Maintain BASF maintenance processes and KPIs, e.g. planning and schedule
Manage BASF PM and PdM programs
Ensure efficient and effective utilization of maintenance manpower, resources, tools, and equipment.
Manage people development in a team environment
Execute training plan and execution
Support capital project delivery processes
Develop and maintain 3-year maintenance spending and equipment reliability strategic plan
Establish and support a safety culture in which all accidents are preventable
Provide role model and enable development of competencies in others needed to implement BASF's strategy

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You
Minimum BS degree in an Engineering or other technical discipline with minimum 7 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience required
Detailed understanding of equipment, including high degree of knowledge of rotating equipment, and overall plant manufacturing processes is required
Requires familiarity with environmental, health and safety procedures and a broad understanding of mechanical equipment maintenance, mechanical integrity programs and preventative maintenance practices
Must have familiarity with maintenance programs, work processes (MPI, etc.), and best practices.
Must have effective communication skills and technical competencies of troubleshooting, root cause analysis, general computer skills, work planning and estimating, and user knowledge of SAP maintenance functions
Must be able to work in a 24/7 plant environment
Desired Technical Skill Set
Microsoft Office, SAP CMMS, Maintenance Work Processes, e.g. Planning and Scheduling, Maintenance and Project Management software, In Depth Knowledge of Mechanical Systems and Applications as they Relate to Industrial Machinery, Technical Writing, Project Management, Leadership Training/Experience, PM/PdM Program Knowledge, Precision Maintenance Knowledge.
