Work with lead estimator and project teams to prepare front end (FEL-0 to FEL-3) estimates on industrial projects, $50,000 – $120MM, using estimating software.
Ability to review project packages and drawings to understand scope of capital projects and identify deficiencies or questions.
May review scopes and estimates prepared by third parties, or contractor quotes and contracts for extra work/change order pricing validation.
Determine most effective way to organize project scope for estimating into project components and elements, as well as assist in developing work breakdown structures with Project Manager to be used through execution.
Visit project location to understand restrictions and conditions of work. Travel 10% required. Sites located in Hopewell and Chesterfield Virginia, as well as Philadelphia PA.
Assist with maintaining Excel based estimating databases and initiating improvements in estimating procedures and processes when identified. Attend training on new estimating procedures and software packages as required. Software currently used is MC2-ICE and ASPEN CCE or IPE.

Knowledge of estimating techniques, project cost management and construction materials and methods as it relates to building/MEP construction and repair.
Ability to analyze data using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions to problems related to estimate costs and recommend actions to update estimating data.

Minimum 3 years of MEP construction or project estimating experience
Proficiency in Microsoft program suite, with minimum intermediate experience level with Excel mostly for Macro utilization.
Familiarity with industry estimating databases and estimating data sources, such as Richardsons, MCAA, DOL, Chemical Engineering, ENR.
Ability to read and correctly interpret technical documents and drawings (PFD, P&ID, ISO)
Knowledge of and ability to use mathematics for quantity calculations using algebra and geometry
